This formula strongly drains dampness and clears heat. It is for short term use for infections with signs of heat like itching, irritation, redness or pain. This can be used to assist the body in clearing HPV, cervical dysplasia, yeast or bacterial vaginosis. Use for shorter steam sessions while having active symptoms or longer and more consistent steaming for chronic conditions. If you are managing chronic or recurrent infections, it’s best to work with a practitioner to be sure steaming will be helpful.
Sophora root is very commonly recommended for steaming blends or topical use in Chinese herbal medicine for conditions of Dampness (itching, irritated skin, pustules etc.). Hedyotis clears toxic heat and has been shown to have anti-cancer effects. Wild mint vents heat and moves Qi.
