This formula is designed for immediate use in the postpartum time. It can be used for steaming or for a sitz bath. It soothes and lubricates irritated tissues in a gentle, revitalizing way. Nettles are astringent and also nourish Blood. Mugwort is warming to relieve pain and also deeply nourish the Kidneys. Motherwort moves Blood to promote healing and uterine cleansing. Chamomile and rose work together to move Qi and soothe any irritation of tissues.
This is also a great formula if you’re just getting started with steaming. It can be used for any constitution. It can be used for shorter cycles, vaginal discomfort or dryness and easing pain associated with scar tissue. This formula counteracts the contracting and cooling nature of Metal, providing warmth, relief and nourishment.
This formula can also be used for infusions. Just add some fresh ginger and honey for a harmonizing effect. Internal use can support nourishing and moving Blood, warming the womb, nourishing the Womb Heart and soothing the flow of Qi.
Use approximately 1/4th cup of loose plant material per steam session. This yields approximately 10 steam sessions. You can increase the dosage to 1 ounce for greater potency if needed. Use ½ cup of plant material for a sitz bath.
