A pregnancy tonic to build vitality, soothe your nervous system and support digestion during all three trimesters.
This formula is based on the Chinese Medicine principle of “calming the fetus.” This can be supportive for
- Miscarriage prevention
- Robust placenta development and blood flow
- Nourishing Blood volume expansion
- Balanced digestion and blood sugar regulation
- Reducing pregnancy related swelling and pain (especially low back pain)
- Improving sleep quality
- Soothing the nervous system to reduce anxiety or depression
With this formula, you’re nourishing the Spleen, Kidneys and the Liver according to Chinese Medicine, which are all Yin organs vital for a robust pregnancy. It includes tonics for Qi, Yang and Blood.
Here are the key ingredients and what they offer:
Eucommia bark: A supportive Kidney Yang tonic that also is traditionally known to “calm the fetus,” meaning that it can prevent miscarriage or early onset of labor. This herb also supports strong tendons and ligaments as the baby grows and relaxin increases.
Atractylodis root: A Spleen tonic that also has traditional use as an herb to “calm the fetus.” Helps to clear the mind and increase digestive capacity.
Chinese yam: A gentle Spleen and digestive tonic that also nourishes Yin, supports regulated blood sugar and combats pregnancy fatigue.
Chinese skullcap: A bitter, cooling root that clears heat and reduces swelling or edema. This herb has anti-inflammatory properties and can also support blood sugar regulation.
White peony root: A calming, cooling root that supports the Liver, nourishes Blood and Yin and settles an overactive mind. This herb also soothes nervous digestion.
Cardamom: This herb harmonizes the formula and supports digestion as well as “calming the fetus” and moving Qi in the body.
